2340 head were yarded at the Emerald Prime and Store Sale today. The usual Meatworks Buyers were all in attendance but were subdued in their bidding. Consequently prices plummeted for all descriptions. Bullocks topped at 273c/kg, Fat Cows made 237c/kg while Slaughter Heifers reached 254c/kg. A smaller panel of Store Buyers also in attendance saw prices ease. Top Steers reached 285c/kg for EU Steers while Heifers topped at 241c/kg. The Feeder job was also easier however very few were offered.

Sale Highlights: Helen Bell, Blue Hills, Yamala sold grain assisted No 4 Steers to 265c/kg for $1559.00 per head. Charles and Wendy Curran, Blue Grass Plains, Capella sold grain assisted Heifers to 240c/kg to return $911.00 per head. Peta Matthews sold good Brahman Cows and Calves for $870.00 to top the Cow and Calf market. Andrew & Angella Schwarz, Juanita, Fernlees sold Santa grain assisted Ox for 272c/kg weighing 598kg to return $1617.00 per head. Their Cows made 230c/kg weighing 573kg to return $1318.00 per head. Bill and Vicky Pownall, Skyville, Moranbah sold Brahman Cross Weaner Steers for 275c/kg weighing 219kg to return $603.00. Grant Family, Silverdale, Yamala sold Droughtmaster Cross Bullocks to 265.20c/kg for 538kg to return $1429.00. Atkinson Family, Cardona, Blackwater sold No 4 Santa Heifers to average 240 cents for 390kg to return $936.00. Singleton Family, Teecedale, Clermont sold Brahman Cross Bullocks for 260 cents to weigh 564kg to return $1460.00.
